Venus Day Longer Than Year
One day on Venus is longer than one year around the Sun.
A single day on Venus lasts longer than a full trip around the Sun. This is because the planet rotates very slowly, but it also spins in a strange direction.
The reason for this is that the rotation is much slower than the revolution around the star. It takes about 243 Earth days to turn once on its axis, but only 225 Earth days to circle the Sun.
You can picture this by imagining a very heavy wheel rolling slowly forward. If the wheel rolls only three times in ten seconds, it has gone further than a fast bicycle would have. The slow spin of Venus is the main cause, and it spins backwards compared to most other planets in our solar system.
This means that a person standing on Venus would see the Sun rise in the West and set in the East. They would also watch the same star appear to move from left to right across their sky during one single day.
If a human could survive on Venus, they would have to wait six months just to see sunrise again. It is a very slow world where time feels different than it does on Earth.
