Talking to Strangers
Do you feel nervous when someone new starts a chat?
You stand in a shop. A stranger walks near you. Do you say hello or stay quiet?
Some people speak first. They smile and ask a simple question. Maybe they ask about the weather or the time. This makes the other person feel safe. The chat starts easy and grows slowly.
Other people wait first. They look at the stranger's face to see if they are friendly. If the person smiles, then they say hello. If not, they walk away soon. It feels safer to wait for a sign.
Both ways are okay. Some people feel brave and start the talk. Others wait for a good moment. There is no right or wrong here.
Do you think one way works better than the other?
