Why Being Bad Is Fun
Sometimes the worst attempts feel better than perfect routines.
My friend tries to bake bread every weekend, but he often burns the loaves. He still buys flour and puts on an apron anyway because he likes the smell of yeast in his kitchen.
People do this with many different hobbies, like painting or playing guitar. Many artists say the first few paintings are terrible but they keep going because they want to see what happens next time.
Some people think having a hobby means you must be good at it. They feel sad when they are not skilled enough to join a club or win an award, so they stop trying completely.
Others know that the fun is in trying, not winning. They enjoy learning new things and meeting friends who share their interests, even if the results are not very good.
It is okay to make mistakes when you are learning something new. The important thing is that the activity gives you a break from work or school and makes your mind feel calm.
Maybe you have tried something and failed, but still liked doing it. What could you try now that scares you a little bit?
