A boy with no sight made a new way to read.

图文精读Level A121 words

A little boy named Louis was in a big school for blind children. He had no sight at all. His hands touched things, but he could not read books with his eyes. He wanted to learn stories and words.

One day, Louis saw a special book from France. It had small bumps on the pages. He touched them and learned how they worked. The bumps showed letters to a blind person's hands.

Louis thought about the bumps. He made his own book with raised dots too. His friends could read it by touching their fingers on the paper.

Today, we still use his idea for reading every day. We call it Braille. It helps millions of blind people learn and write.
