The Tomato Garden
A woman and her grandfather plant seeds. Will they grow?
Lena and Grandpa plant seeds in the soil. They dig holes with their hands.
They water the soil every day with a hosepipe. The green plants are very small now.
One morning the sky is grey and windy. The plants are short and bent down by the wind.
The next morning the sky is blue and bright. Sun shines down strongly on the garden bed. Big red tomatoes are on every single plant now.
They pick the red tomatoes and carry a big basket. Their neighbours come out of their houses with baskets too, smiling brightly at them.
They give all the tomatoes to the street people and laugh together. Now everyone in the street has fresh red tomatoes for dinner.
